Voting day is Monday, October 26, 2026. The Region publishes the date. The signs do not come down by themselves. Ajax and Clarington want them gone in 48 hours; Whitby by November 2. Miss it and the municipality pulls them and charges the campaign. That is the job: get them down on time, in one pass or one lawn at a time.
When they have to come down
These three we have in writing. For Oshawa, Pickering, Uxbridge, Scugog, and Brock, open that clerk's election-sign page. Oshawa's window has been under review — do not assume last cycle's number.

Two packages
A few signs on one lawn. You hosted a candidate, or you are a volunteer with a stack in the garage. Usually a minimum load, $109–$169 before HST. We pull them, take the stakes, sweep the holes.
A whole campaign. A garage, a trailer, or a pile from the weekend of the 26th. Same crew, one booking, quoted from photos. Coroplast is bulky and light, so this is volume, not weight — most campaign piles land as a quarter to a half trailer. If you have more than one stash, say so; we will tell you whether it is still one trip across Oshawa, Whitby, and Ajax.
Send photos of the pile either way. A sign count is less useful than one wide shot.
What they are made of, and what the facility charges
Most municipal signs here are coroplast on a wire or wood stake. Light. At Durham Region waste facilities, plastic signs are free in a dedicated load. Mix them with household junk and the whole weight is charged. Wood and metal stakes are ordinary waste.
That is why we sort as we load. The plastic tips free; the stakes do not. You do not have to pre-sort unless you want to.
Municipal bulky pickup is for furniture, not campaign signs. If you still have a couch in the same garage, the curbside lookup is the place for that — it will not take the coroplast.
If you miss the deadline
Ajax deducts from the campaign's sign deposit and disposes of what bylaw pulls. Whitby can remove signs without notice when they are in the wrong place, and charge for it. Clarington deducts from a $250 deposit. We are the option that gets them down before that happens, not a bylaw officer. This is not legal advice — your clerk's election-sign page is the rule. Same published rate card as every other job. No election surcharge. Book the week of the 26th, not the Saturday after — Ajax's 48 hours does not care that it is a Tuesday.
