Oshawa has three honest ways to get rid of a pile: the City's large-item program, the dump on Ritson Road North, or us. Use the cheap one when it fits. Hire when it does not.
This is not Whitby and it is not the Region's two-item booking. Oshawa runs its own curb program. The facility at 1640 Ritson Road North is the one we tip at after an Oshawa job. The numbers below are from those two official pages, not a guess.
The City curb: six items, free, booked
Oshawa's Large Item Collection is free. Houses and buildings of eight or fewer units get six items per collection. You book at least two business days before garbage day. Spots are limited. Set items out no earlier than 6 p.m. the night before, no later than 7 a.m. on the day.
Buildings of nine or more units: twelve items, and the owner or manager has to book it — a tenant cannot. Commercial and industrial properties are not eligible.
Furniture, mattresses, appliances, electronics, and porcelain are on the list. Construction and demolition material are not — no drywall, no demo wood. Bags of garbage, tires, and paint are not.

A student house in Windfields is mattresses in every bedroom before anyone counts the porch. That is already more than six.
Ritson Road: drive it yourself
The Oshawa Waste Management Facility is at 1640 Ritson Road North. The Region publishes hours and rates.

Tuesday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. From the first Tuesday in May to the first Tuesday in October, Tuesdays run until 6 p.m. Closed holidays. Debit, credit, or prepaid — no cash. Weighed in, weighed out.
One mattress you can lift is a scale ticket, not a $109 minimum. That is when not to hire us. Mix fill through a wood load and the whole weight is charged as mixed. Paint and propane are free in a dedicated hazardous drop, not in the junk pile. What cannot go in a mixed load is the same list as everywhere else.
When to hire
More than six items. Stairs downtown. No truck. You want it gone today. Reno debris the curb will refuse.
